Hyperthesis: Or Overthinkers in Love

An experiment in precision and passion, formerly titled Decade/Case Study. Hyperthesis isolates the moments at which academic theory touches bodily reality (and vice versa) and demonstrates how obsessive reasoning can rend and wrench the body, from conversational tics to grandiose choreographic expansions.

As they move through a synchronized, rhythmic (sometimes arrhythmic) physical score that repeatedly connects and cruelly disconnects their bodies, two performers present simultaneous academic conference papers.  The subject of these papers, written for the occasion, is the physical passion between the two performers, which has been underway for a full decade.
