Toronto Performance Jams

A man in a suit and tie, struggling, leans backward with a flashlight in his mouth. An arm hangs over him as though letting go of or about to take the flashlight.

Two woman sit side by side. The woman on the left wears a short dark blue dress. Her mouth is open like she's yelling. Her fingers are open wide and reaching up slightly. The woman on the right leans back, laughing. She holds a small flashlight.

Let’s Jam !

Thanks to all who came out on Oct 2!

Next Jam will be January.

What even are the Jams?

Underground, one-night-only, low-stakes, contemporary experimental performance.

Raw,

fleshy, abstract,

and different every time.

It will be weird and awesome.

(That guy is really into that doorknob right now. Is that woman crying or laughing?)

We just jam the way musicians do: no story, no tech, no improv gimmicks, no message.

(What are they fighting about? No, wait, now they’re running? Where did they find that traffic cone?)

There’s no rehearsal. Actors arrive an hour before the audience, discover the elements they will use that night, and then play with the core of all performance: liveness and presence.

Bring your friends and come and go as you please.
You can buy drinks and snacks at the venue and enjoy them during the event.
