Now Keep In Mind That I'm an Artist performs in multiple locations at once and experiments with audience interest. The show begins in a typical style – audience sits in a theater, lights go up, performer begins – but in Now Keep in Mind... the performer begins by inviting the audience to leave. Telling them that they do not have to sit through the whole show, in fact if they aren't interested in what's happening on stage, they shouldn't sit through it. She challenges them to “connect to their interest and act on it” and explains that there are three other pieces happening in nearby locations and that after they've given this piece “a chance to reveal itself” and given themselves a chance to “open to the piece,” if they aren't interested they should head out – maybe they'll check out the other pieces, maybe they'll just go get frozen yogurt instead.
This video excerpt is of an outdoor workshop of the primary piece, of four, that make up Now Keep In Mind...
